The Provence Tours were developed through scouting trips in both 2004 and 2005. We explored the region and compiled an itinerary which takes Mello Velo cyclists through the hill top villages of Lacoste, Gordes, past the fortress of Les Baux and, of course, to the summit of Mt. Ventoux - the giant of Provence.
  • Imagine yourself rolling down the quiet paved paths and roadways with little traffic while the scents of lavender, thyme, and savory fill the air.
  • Now ponder practicing yoga in the garden each morning, relaxing poolside with a good book and wandering through colorful markets full of flowers, produce, meats, and cheeses.
  • This area offers much the world's most picturesque countryside, villages and markets. It is the trip of a lifetime for cyclists and noncyclists alike.
Cycling Provence

One of the things that makes Mello Velo so unique is that we choose to stay in country homes, creating a relaxed atmosphere of camaraderie, community, and personal space. Bedrooms will be shared, though single supplement are available at an extra cost. All of the homes have spacious living and dining areas where guests enjoy large, friendly meals together.

The grounds also feature Cycling Provence

  • Many covered terraces
  • Gardens and orchards
  • A beautiful endless pool

Food and mealtimes are some things we see as the best parts of life - beside cycling. We feel each meal is a celebration of life and each guest adds an important aspect. We hope that you'd take another tour just for the food and think you just might.
